You need to learn how to be extremely good at six things:
You will have to get really good at finding prospects for your network marketing business. In fact, you will really have to become excellent at it. Then you need to always keep doing this as you always need fresh prospects. Once you have gone through all your warm leads and referrals, you need to find a way to keep the prospects coming in. Read the article: 101 ways to Find Prospects for your Network Marketing Business. There are some excellent points in there and ways to attract prospects to you through Magnetic Marketing.
The biggest part of your prospecting should be blogging daily and creating training videos. You can really connect with your prospect through videos, and a blog will give them a way to find you when they search for you. You can get so good at blogging that you can make money selling courses that will attract more prospects to you. I recommend this course on affiliate marketing which will teach you everything you need to know about making money with blogging.
Now that you have people who are interested in your business, you need to learn how to invite prospects. This is easier said than done and you need to learn what to say to keep their interest. One of the first questions you will get is: “Is this one of those illegal pyramid schemes?” and you need to get past that hurdle with confidence. Being able to invite effectively and getting past the objections is a very necessary skill to have. If you can invite people to have a look at your business with confidence, they will act on that confidence and accept your invitation.
Presenting is also a necessary skill if you want to excel in Network Marketing. Our article Presentation Skills Training PowerPoint goes into this skill in detail. Apart from using a PowerPoint Presentation and speaking in front of an audience, blogging and creating videos will also give you the skills you need to be able to present properly. When you do those activities, you will have to think about how to present your business the right way. The more you do it, the more confidence you get.
Yes, following up with your prospects without sounding like a nag is a skill. If you have done the rapport building in finding your prospects and the inviting and presenting correctly, you have made a friend. You need to be in contact with them often until they’re ready. Putting them in an email list where you send them good information is a good way to follow up without being pushy. You should also keep in contact by phone. Ask how they’re doing, talk about their dream. The dream they’ve shared with you; their why. At the end, ask if they’re ready to come on board. If you don’t get a “No” keep in touch. It has been proven that the fortune is in the follow-up. Don’t blow this.
Teaching or training
This topic is probably another article on its own. It is very similar to presenting and the skills required there, but you will have one-on-one training added to it. Show them what you do to get prospects. Take them by the hand and help them put their list together. Teach them what to say. Teach them how to say it. Role-play until they have it. You need to duplicate yourself for your business to grow. Create another person just like you with your training. Get your team together. Give them prizes when they do well. Motivate and inspire them. Remember, they are your business. They are the way to excel at network marketing. The stronger your team, the bigger your business growth. This is where excellence lies.
I know that most network marketers think that their business’ events don’t matter. They think that whether you go or not makes no difference, and they don’t treat it like a priority.
The truth is that they work. And if you are really committed to make your business work for you and to excel at network marketing, you will make it your number 1 priority to get to these events, and to take as many of your team as you can. To accept no excuses, and to be committed to convincing your team of the necessity to view this as a priority.
When I was working for Avon in New Zealand, they just started with events. We each had to pay $10 to attend the event, and it was so inspiring that my sales tripled that year. If you’re looking to motivate and inspire your team, look no further than these events. And help them see that it’s a priority to go. It is not a luxury. You get to mingle with people just like you. You get to meet top performers in your industry, and you get to learn from them on how they did it.
You also need to know that good things take time. Nothing happens quickly. It takes commitment, time, professional development and dedication to grow. If you want to excel in network marketing, you need to be prepared to give that full commitment to your personal and business growth.
Now that you know how to excel in network marketing, go forth and make it happen. Only you can.
