Too many people start a home business and quit, deciding it “doesn’t work.” How to succeed in an MLM Business – twenty rules that lead to success if you have the courage to follow them:
1 Treat your business…like a business!
Money doesn’t fall in your lap without work. You can therefore not expect to sit back and relax and have your business grow without you. You need two things to make it successful: Passion and commitment. You cannot expect to have results if you just work at your business for an hour a day. Put your everything into it.
2. Do something to grow your business every day.
Set aside an hour or two per day to do marketing, or anything else that will grow your business, like a draw, competition or special offers. Don’t get side tracked with having to deal with customers or other things. If you are “too busy” working in your business to work on it, the result won’t be success.
3. Lead by example.
If you have a business you need to be a leader, and lead by example. If you don’t know how to lead, there are many leadership courses that you can go on. If you leave everyone to do their own thing, it will show in the results you’re getting.
4. Work with the workers.
If you have someone in your downline who is not producing, don’t waste time on them. Work with those who want to be successful and who are putting in the effort.
5. Buy from yourself and get your family and friends to buy from you.
If you own a hairdresser salon, why go somewhere else to get your hair cut? This is the number one rule in business and goes for your business too. Offer your friends and family a discount if they buy from you. Give them incentives to buy from you and if they refer someone to buy from you. You’ve heard the saying: “It’s not what you know but who you know.” – make it apply to your business as well.
6. You will succeed only if your downline succeeds
Work with those you recruit and make sure they succeed. If you do this, you WILL succeed as well.
7. Only YOU can make it happen
No-one can do the work for you. Therefore, you can’t blame anyone if you don’t succeed. No-one can make you fail. It is up to you. Stop blaming things, people and circumstances if you don’t succeed.
8. Leaders read – as much as they can!
Read everything you can about success and things you need to do to be able to succeed. Read motivational and inspirational books, books about marketing, and everything you can to improve yourself. Leaders are not afraid to change.
9. Open your eyes to your potential.
You have unlimited potential. You can literally be, do or have anything you set your mind on. You just need commitment and passion to succeed. Decide what you want, then go for it!
10. Set goals…and publish them!
Once you have decided what you want, set your goals, write them down, and pin it somewhere where you and others can see them. Look at it daily.
11. Have a plan (a realistic plan).
Now you are ready to write your plan on how to get there. Make sure it’s realistic.
12. Winning starts with beginning
Now you should take action and do what you need to do to follow your plan and realize your goals. The way to success starts with a single step.
Someone said: “if you follow two rabbits, you won’t catch either.” Make sure to focus on your goal and to do the things that you need to do to take you there. Don’t get side-tracked by other juicy-looking “rabbits” but stick to your plan.
14. Send praise down (and criticism up).
Praise those below you for their efforts. If you have someone above you who is not pulling their weight, let them know.
15. Don’t quit.
Someone else said: “Winners never quit, and quitters never win. This is so true. Don’t quit. If what you do is not working, find another way that is working.
16. Think BIG.
Small desire will bring small results, just as a small fire brings little heat. You therefore need to dream big to get the results you want.
17. Don’t major in minors.
Don’t let little problems or changes upset you. There will always be changes. Find a way to solve the problems and realize that you may need to change in the process.
18. Don’t be a negative thinker.
Nothing brings failure faster than negativity. If you look at successful people, you will find that they are always positive.
19. Some will, some won’t. So what?! Someone’s waiting! Next!
Most people, 98% in fact, will not be successful. You need to move on, and find the ones who are willing to put in the effort to be successful. You really need to learn how to excel in network marketing. Learn until it becomes second nature to be successful.
20. Persist until you win.
Keep on keeping on. There is power in persistence.
