How to invite prospects network marketing
In the beginning you may think building a team in your network marketing business sounds easy. However, once you start, you realize it is not easy at all. Your leaders will tell you that all you need to do is get your prospects a DVD or send them to a website to watch a presentation. That will do the selling for you. You need to get the prospect interested enough to watch that presentation. If they’re not interested, then you are going to have trouble getting them to watch it. This is where you need skills.
If you are someone who is naturally talented when talking to people, and people are drawn to you because of your bubbly personality, it may be difficult to teach this to your downline. 95% of people are shy and struggle to speak on the phone. They need skills and a duplicable system. You need to teach them that system.
The first thing to know is that your prospects aren’t all ready to get on board. There is usually a time in someone’s life where they need what you offer. They may need the product, or they may need your opportunity. It is not your job to persuade, it is your job to sort through the prospects to see who is ready for the product, and who is ready for the opportunity. Oftentimes your best clients become ready to join your team because they are sold on your products. You cannot convince people who are not ready to join your business as a client or a salesperson. That is why it is called prospecting: You have to sift through the rubble to find the gold. Literally.
Should you ignore your warm market, and just go for finding new people? Many people teach that. I think you should do a combination of both, but there is a specific way to do each.
Your cold market
You should generate your own leads to be able to have a cold market. Here are 101 ways to find prospects for your network marketing business. As in any business, you should have an “ideal client or salesperson” in mind, and you should talk directly to them. You should have a website and have a variety of ways to entice people to your site. The best way is to offer something of value which they can read, download or watch. You can also write a book that trains the skills they need to succeed, or you can sell or give away someone else’s book. A good book to give away is the Go Pro Book Eric Worre. This will attract prospects to you, and they will want to learn more from you and join your business when they’re ready. It is much better getting prospects to come to you rather than running after them chasing them, don’t you think?
You can generate you leads by advertising as well. For this you need to learn the skills to write advertisements and sales letters that get results. Postcards work well for this. You can write flyers and hand them out, and include them in a publication of some sort. Your leads will then contact you by signing up from your squeeze page or emailing you directly, or some will even phone you. When this happens you should direct them to a voice mail system, where they have to listen to something that tells them a bit more. Then you ask them to please leave their name, email address, and phone number so you can use it for further marketing. You can also direct them to your website squeeze page where they leave their information as well. It is better to do this than answer the phone directly because you may not be ready with your script. It is also good to test whether they are serious or not.
When you talk to them you can either push them away or pull them towards you. It depends on how you handle it: It too, is a skill. You need to find out if you’re speaking to the right person, whether it is a good time to talk to them, and then qualify them to find out if it is worth your time speaking to them.
This is the script for returning their calls:
Hi (name) this is (your name) and I am calling you from (your state). Recently you (state action they took) about starting your own business from home, and I wanted to find out if that is still correct. (Wait for answer) (Name) I am calling to let you know that we can assist you with any questions you may have about our business, okay? But first I would like to ask you a few questions. Is that okay?
Now you can ask all or some of the following questions. It is important for you to have control over the conversation. These questions are for you to determine whether this person is a good fit for your business.
- What kind of business are you looking for?
- Why are you looking for a business?
- Have you ever been self-employed in the past? (if yes, ask about it)
- Do you have a job? What do you like about it? What would you like to change? Or what do you hate about it?
- Do you have any management experience?
- Are you willing to be taught how to use and follow a system?
- Do you have any experience in Network Marketing?
- Are you looking for part time income or are you wanting to replace your job?
- How much money are you looking to make in your home based business?
- How much time are you willing to dedicate to your home based business?
- Are you in a position to invest an X amount of dollars into getting started?
- (Name), let me ask you this: Other than the money, what exactly is it that you are looking for? What is it that you will be able to do when you have the amount of money that you want to make that you can’t do today?
Make notes as they answer. The last question is especially important. It will tell you their “why.” Write it down to remind them of it when the going gets tough.
Your Warm Market
Now these people are part of your warm market and you can direct them to the DVD or website that they have to watch. This is your business presentation. Can you see that up to this point, you haven’t mentioned your business name at all? You first have to qualify them before you show them your business opportunity.
If your company doesn’t have a prospecting DVD or video on their website, you can find some excellent ones online. You can use this video or article to sell them on the concept of Network Marketing. Whatever your company offers, you need to have your own website set up so that you are in control of your leads. Oftentimes the Network Marketing Companies have great DVD’s or videos or brochures in place which will be good to share with your prospects once you have them convinced of the concepts first. Many prospects fall through the cracks on the Network Marketing Company’s website because these websites aren’t designed to capture interest. The prospect may feel overwhelmed when they get there and then go away because of that, which is why I like to be in control of the process. I would just give them ONE message on the squeeze page. You have more warm contacts than you think
Most people just look at their phone to get contacts, or they go for everyone who is in their Outlook (or whichever mail program you use. You will have to look in your list of contacts in your email program. There are usually many more than you remember. Also, here is a memory jogger that you can use to remember all your contacts. Create a Mailing List
Now you have some work to do. Put the list in an Excel spreadsheet, or print this one out, and you can write all the details in.
This Excel spreadsheet will become very valuable to you. Keep it safe. You can add to it as time goes by, and people who respond to your offer, you can add to an autoresponder. An autoresponder is a great tool that lets you mail the same email to many people, and the software personalizes the message with the person’s first name. You can continue sending messages this way, but keep the Excel spreadsheet as well and add to it from the autoresponder.
You need to always work on expanding your list. You’ll be amazed at how many contacts you get by focusing on getting more contacts. You need to go to business networking meetings. Constantly find new organizations where you can meet new people.
